Bible Verses from God's Country Church Statement of Faith

God:    In 1 Corinthians 8:6, Paul writes:  “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him.”  (KJV)

Father:    John 12:49-50, Jesus says, “For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it.  I know that His command leads to eternal life.  So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”  (NIV)

Jesus Christ:    John 16:28, Jesus speaks again saying, “I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”  (NIV)

He arose from the dead:    Luke 24:1-7, On the third day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.  They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus Christ.  While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them.  In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the found, but the two men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; He has risen!  Remember how He told you, while He was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”    (NIV)

Holy Spirit:    Luke 3:21-22, When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too.  And as He was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove.  And a voice came from heaven:  “You are my Son, whom I love, with you I am well pleased.”    (NIV)

He is ever present:    1 Timothy 1:17,  Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.  Amen    (NIV)

Holy Scriptures:    2 Peter 1:20-21, Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.  For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.    (NIV)
